Immune Modulation Assays

Immune Modulation Assays

Used for antibodies that target proteins at the surface of immune cells to modulate their response. These include antibodies designed to damper or increase an immune response, as well as ADCs that are coupled to inhibitors or activators of the immune response, instead of cytotoxic compounds (for inflammatory & autoimmune diseases).

Target cells (blood cells or cell lines) are incubated in the presence or absence of pro-inflammatory agents (LPS for instance) and treated with the antibody of interest. Inflammatory response is addressed by measuring:

  • The release of pro- or anti-inflammatory cytokines/chemokines by ELISA or using available reporter cell lines

  • The expression of pro- or anti-inflammatory markers at the cell surface by flow cytometry
